1. Department Store Sales
Time to time, I find department stores (Saks, Neimans, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Barneys) will have their own exclusive markdowns on Prada bags and other designers.
This past month, during the summer designer sales, I came across a Saks employee advertising sales on his Instagram. I saw that he posted pictures of classic Prada purses, that would never go on sale, on sale!
This Daino Tote Bag is originally $1,595.00, which can be bought right now at multiple department stores for regular price. How much did I get it for?
40% off. Again. 40% off.
Department stores, usually, have big time designer sales during summer and right around Thanksgiving time. This past summer designer sale was filled with Prada, Givenchy, Louboutins, Chanel, you name it. It is a great opportunity to buy an expensive purse you've been wanting during this time.
2. Outlets
I live in Southern California, which is surrounded by multiple outlets that sell amazing designer pieces. From Cabazon to Camarillo, I have access to outlets that carry stores like Barneys Warehouse, Last Call (Neiman Marcus), Saks Off Fifth, and etc.
This Saffiano Camera Crossbody Bag is $650 in stores right now.
I bought this bag at Saks Off Fifth at the Camarillo, CA outlets for $350.
For whatever reason, many handbags that are still in season and are still at department stores are found at outlets. A fun thing about outlets is that you never know what you'll find!
3. Using Ebates
Ebates is the next best thing to sliced bread.
How it works:
1. Sign up. It's free!
2. Look for the online store you're shopping.
3. Shop.
4. Get money back for shopping!
I love using Ebates when I know I won't be able to get discounts on certain items, but the 3%-10% (sometimes even more) cash back adds up. Some days they'll have specials going on when it's double cash back or even more! "You might be thinking 3% cash back…? That's nothing…"
Well, lets break it down shall we?
I recently needed to buy a new wallet and came across this Prada Saffiano Wallet Crossbody. I thought why not buy a 3 in 1 wallet (wallet, cross body, clutch), so I could get more use out of it. I knew I wasn't going to be able to find this item on sale. So, I went onto Ebates and saw that it was 8% cash back (It was double cash back day for Neiman Marcus.). Now, lets do the math.
Price: $680
Cashback: 8%
That is $54.40 that you would be getting back.
That is $54.40 that you would be saving.
That is $54.40 that could go towards something else.
That is $54.50 worth of extra Starbucks for me.
Ebates is a great way of saving a little extra money from online shopping. There are over hundreds and hundreds of stores to get cash back from.
If you aren't a user of Ebates, sign up here and give it try!
Till next time….
