Kenzo Sweaters

For awhile now, I have been eye-ing the ever-so-cute Kenzo Tiger Sweater. But come on… $315 for a cotton sweater? I put the idea of buying one on the back burner, until, I saw a couple different Kenzo sweaters on sale, during this past end-of-season designer sales.

I was lucky enough to come across and buy an all black Kenzo Tiger Sweater from SSENSE that was already on sale, with an additional 20%? 25%? (I don't remember.) off, during the last final days of the sale.

And let me tell you… it is the cutest damn sweater, ever. I already know it will be my go-to fall/winter sweater to layer with a leather jacket and skinny jeans. I was actually really surprised at how soft and comfortable the sweater was when I tried it on. I don't mind spending a little more money on items like these because I know I will wear the shit out of it.

That being said, as much as I love it, I would not pay full price for it. I just find that paying $315 for a cotton sweater is a bit excessive.

Cute, but not that cute.

Here are some Kenzo sweaters on sale right now.

Original Price: $355
Sale Price: $248

Original Price: $267
Sale Price: $186

Original Price: $513.04
Sale Price: $256.52
(Extra 20% off all sale prices till July 26 with coupon code x20july14)

Original Price: $279.60
(This sweater is not on sale, but it is selling for cheaper than regular price.)

Original Price: $221.23
Sale Price: $132.74
(Extra 20% off all sale prices till July 26 with coupon code x20july14)

Regarding Sizing: Kenzo sweaters are known to run small and are meant for a tighter fit. I, personally, like a looser fit, when it comes to my sweaters. These sweaters are also known to shrink when you wash them. My top size is almost always a XS/S, but I bought my sweater in a size L (just to give you the sizing comparison) and it fits perfectly.

Prada on Sale?!

Prada handbags are timeless, durable, and just plain gorgeous. However, the price tag on one of these babies is pretty steep. That being said, how does one get a new Prada discounted or on sale?

1. Department Store Sales
Time to time, I find department stores (Saks, Neimans, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Barneys) will have their own exclusive markdowns on Prada bags and other designers.

This past month, during the summer designer sales, I came across a Saks employee advertising sales on his Instagram. I saw that he posted pictures of classic Prada purses, that would never go on sale, on sale!
This Daino Tote Bag is originally $1,595.00, which can be bought right now at multiple department stores for regular price. How much did I get it for?
40% off. Again. 40% off.

Department stores, usually, have big time designer sales during summer and right around Thanksgiving time. This past summer designer sale was filled with Prada, Givenchy, Louboutins, Chanel, you name it. It is a great opportunity to buy an expensive purse you've been wanting during this time.

2. Outlets
I live in Southern California, which is surrounded by multiple outlets that sell amazing designer pieces. From Cabazon to Camarillo, I have access to outlets that carry stores like Barneys Warehouse, Last Call (Neiman Marcus), Saks Off Fifth, and etc.
This Saffiano Camera Crossbody Bag is $650 in stores right now.
I bought this bag at Saks Off Fifth at the Camarillo, CA outlets for $350.
For whatever reason, many handbags that are still in season and are still at department stores are found at outlets. A fun thing about outlets is that you never know what you'll find!

3. Using Ebates
Ebates is the next best thing to sliced bread.

How it works:
1. Sign up. It's free!
2. Look for the online store you're shopping.
3. Shop.
4. Get money back for shopping!

I love using Ebates when I know I won't be able to get discounts on certain items, but the 3%-10% (sometimes even more) cash back adds up. Some days they'll have specials going on when it's double cash back or even more! "You might be thinking 3% cash back…? That's nothing…"

Well, lets break it down shall we?
I recently needed to buy a new wallet and came across this Prada Saffiano Wallet Crossbody. I thought why not buy a 3 in 1 wallet (wallet, cross body, clutch), so I could get more use out of it. I knew I wasn't going to be able to find this item on sale. So, I went onto Ebates and saw that it was 8% cash back (It was double cash back day for Neiman Marcus.). Now, lets do the math.

Price: $680
Cashback: 8%
That is $54.40 that you would be getting back.
That is $54.40 that you would be saving.
That is $54.40 that could go towards something else.
That is $54.50 worth of extra Starbucks for me.

Ebates is a great way of saving a little extra money from online shopping. There are over hundreds and hundreds of stores to get cash back from.
If you aren't a user of Ebates, sign up here and give it try!

Till next time….

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Every year Nordstrom has what they call their Anniversary Sale. During this time, Nordstrom has new upcoming Fall pieces, from clothes, shoes, makeup, purses, you name it, for discounted prices during a span of about two weeks.

The 411:
Now, Nordstrom cardholders always get "early access" to these goodies a week before the sale actually starts. The sale starts today, July 18 and will go on till August 4, when all the prices will go back up to regular price.

One thing that I love about the Anniversary Sale is the makeup discounts. Most department stores (Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus) always exclude makeup from sales and you will most likely have to pay full price, all the time.

Some of the deals going on...

I love the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. However, it is definitely pricey. In this Hydrating Boost Set, you not only get the Facial Treatment Essence, but you also get the Essential Power Cream, 2 Facial Treatment Masks, and a Signs Eye Mask. There is also a gift with purchase going on with SK-II products.  Price: $195 ($273 Value)

One word: Clarisonic. This is a beauty staple. It has helped my skin clear up, TREMENDOUSLY. I really feel that everyone should invest in one of these!
Price: $149 ($221 Value)

Leather jackets are like little black dresses. Every person should have one in their closet. It goes with pretty much everything from a cocktail dress to jeans and a t-shirt. I've heard people say why buy real leather, when you can buy faux? Well, because THEY ARE INVESTMENTS. Leather jackets last (if you take good care of them) a long time. This one, by Veda, is a goregous black asymmetrical jacket for $549.00 (Original Price: $825.00)

Another goodie! Burberry jackets and coats are timeless pieces. This Burberry London Quilted Nylon Puffer Jacket is a great piece for the fall and winter. $497.00 (Original Price: $795)

I'm a bag-kind-of-girl. I could have a million purses and would still think I needed more. The color combo and versatiliy of this crossbody is kind of amazing. At $652.90, it is definitely not bad.
(Original Price: $975)

To check out their selection of sale items go to Nordstrom or look at their Anniversary Sale catalog here.
